Hand-painted Christmas Decorations, Teodora Paintings Style
My hand-painted Christmas decorations are selling quite well on both Etsy and Folksy platforms, not just around Christmas but all year round. I keep them listed and I am surprised to see them going in the middle of the summer. As they were flying off the shelves so to speak, I decided to create some more, even though it might be a bit late in the year.

Colourful nails for colourful bracelets
I really enjoyed painting my nails for these photo shoots. Every bracelet deserves colourful nails to match. All bracelets feature a mini print after my paintings and they are designed to complement and enhance the image. For that, I used colourful glass beads, gemstones and millefiori beads as well as connectors and clasp toggles so they would be easy to put on. They are perfect either to complement your colourful outfits or as an accent piece that will draw the eyes. What I like about bracelets is that you can see them too when you are wearing them, unlike earrings for example. Have you ever thought of that :)? Enjoy the showcase and please let me know which one is your favourite.

Lyre Antlers and Horns - My Signature Feature
Today I am posting a collection of landscape paintings featuring deer with lyre antlers and other animals with lyres - my signature feature. I love poetry, both reading and writing and as the lyre is the symbol of poetry, I wanted to incorporate it into my paintings somehow. The landscapes are loosely based on my childhood memories of Brazi where I grew up, surrounded by green hills and high mountains in Romania and by the Devon surroundings and cottages as a homage to my adoptive place for over ten years. I hope you like this collection. More to be added soon.

The Colours of Autumn

| Last Day of September by Teodora Totorean - SOLD |
Autumn is my favourite season because of the warm and brown colours it displays, the yellowish light and the lovely weather: not too cold, not too hot, sunny days followed by rainy days. And because I love autumn, it is impossible not to be inspired by it in my artwork. From birch trees and leaves motifs to autumnal flowers and landscapes, here is a selection of works inspired by this season in various styles and colour combinations to suit any interior and office.

Recent inspiration: Devon meadows

| Spring Meadow by Teodora Totorean |
Since relocating to Devon in 2006, I can't get enough of the countryside landscapes and lane meadows. Everywhere I look there are wild flowers on display and an array of colours to admire. Surrounded by this beauty, it is impossible not to be inspired by it. Here is a recent collection of semi-abstract floral art inspired by the Devon meadows. I hope you like it.

Art Jewellery: pendant necklaces, earrings and rings
I started to create jewellery using prints after my original paintings last year in August and I got hooked. Something that began on a "see how it goes" note turned into a never ending and expanding my repertoire project. I create pendant necklaces using images of my paintings which are fixed onto the metal tray with ice resin. Sometimes I use glass cabochon and I also make rings and earrings. For the necklaces I use either chain or beadwork, the latest being designed by me to complement the colour and the style of the pendant. Each piece is different than the other even when I use the same image. Below you can see a selection of my products. Enjoy!

Teodora, she signed
No, it's not vanity, I just decided to use my first name as my signature as I think it is more memorable. Like building a brand (I wish!). It also marks the beginning of a new stage in my paintings: finding my own style and stick with it for a while - still life scenes featuring semi-abstract musical instruments and flowers, playing with patterns, lines, bi-dimensional images and depth adding textured flowers that nearly jump out from the pictures. I also love painting on 10" X 23.5" canvas size and I am fixated with yellow and purple at the moment with a hint of metallic copper. Here it is the result so far and I can't wait to paint some more. Watch this space! :)

When Painting the Music... the “Concerto” Collection Was Born
I like to incorporate in my paintings other
forms of art like music and poetry - capturing a verse from a song, a metaphor
from a poem, rhythm and lyricism alike in a mixture of colours and emotions.
For two entire weeks I couldn't stop
painting the music, visually translated into a turquoise splash of colour
suggesting the Atlantic Ocean bathing Merlin’s cave, or an imaginary ode to a
mysterious princess, the strings of a Spanish guitar that resonates within, or the
undulated sound of the jazz music surfing on the portative. Mixed media has never had such a complete meaning in my paintings before.
